Trigger Point Therapy

Switch off the knots that refer pain.

Care PT therapist applying trigger point pressure to a patient’s shoulder

What is trigger point therapy?

Trigger points are tight, sensitive bands in muscle that can cause pain both where they sit and in distant areas—like a knot in the shoulder causing a headache. Trigger point therapy uses sustained, focused pressure to release these points, calming the muscle and interrupting the pain cycle. It is often combined with stretching and dry needling.

Benefits

  • Releases painful muscle knots
  • Reduces referred pain patterns
  • Restores normal muscle length
  • Relieves tension headaches
